About Huhtamaki (Lurgan) Ltd
Huhtamaki (Lurgan) Ltd operates from a single site in Dollingstown, Lurgan, Northern Ireland. The Company was established in 1890 & produced fancy linen boxes, for the then booming, linen trade. The production of fancy boxes from the linen trade continued alongside the new range of pulp productions for the egg industry, until the outbreak of World War II.
In 1935 the Company acquired the first Keyes license to manufacture and market moulded products from paper pulp. In the 1970's production was enhanced by the creation of the first purpose built moulded pulp mills in Europe. In 1988, The Company was acquired by Royal Packaging Industries, Van Leer BV and in 1999 Van Leer Merged wit Huhtamaki, which is where we are today.
Locally we employ approximately 200 staff, producing moulded fiber products for the egg and fast food industries.
