Michelle Wilson

Michelle Wilson is a development specialist with over 15 years living and working in developing countries (Chad, DRC, Ethiopia, Uganda, Sierra Leone and Tanzania).  In her time overseas she has worked on a number of market system approaches for small businesses and social enterprises. She has a particular passion for women’s economic empowerment through livelihood development and job creation. She has worked for a range of NGOs including Farm Africa, Concern Worldwide, Tearfund and Medair before beginning with WasteAid in August 2020 to lead the Huhtamaki funded Circular Economy Network Project

Established by British waste managers in 2015, WasteAid is an international charity that shares waste management and recycling skills in the world’s poorest places. It produced an award-winning tool kit sharing best practice that has been downloaded over 30,000 times. WasteAid’s vision is a world with equal access to waste services for all. WasteAid is currently supporting projects in Cameroon, Gambia, Kenya as well as opening up in India, South Africa and Vietnam. See www.WasteAid.org for more information.
