Corporate responsibility program

These are the most material corporate responsibility-related aspects for our business. We have a stated ambition for each theme and measure our performance against related key performance indicators.

We have launched our new compostable Bioware Impresso double walled hot cup that adds to our existing Bioware compostable range. The new cup utilizes the unique Impresso bubble emboss, which provides enhanced insulation and a tactile touch for the holder.
The high-quality fiber used in our paper cups can be recycled and used up to seven times before being composted or used to generate electricity. We lead and participate in several initiatives around the world to increase the recycling of paper cups.
According to a life cycle analysis co-commissioned by Huhtamaki, paper cups often have the lowest carbon footprint, and recycling lowers it further by 54%. The LCA was carried out in 2018-2019 by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.
