Huhtamaki - Fulton Golf Tournament supports local charity

Huhtamaki - Fulton Golf Tournament supports local charity

Our team in Fulton, N.Y. celebrates a fall tradition each year by hosting a golf tournament for employees, retirees and their vendors. It is a highly anticipated event and one that attracted 70 golfers this year.

This is a long-standing event, but in 2019 they decided to shift the focus and leverage its popularity. The annual golf tournament became a charity event to support a worthy cause in the area.

The shift is an idea that is working very well.check_picture.jpg

The event benefited Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) in September 2025 to the tune of $21,000.

OCO provides services designed to improve the quality of life, increase self-sufficiency, and provide opportunities for individuals and families in the Oswego County area.

"The generosity shown by Huhtamaki and all the tournament participants is truly impactful beyond our imagination," said OCO Executive Director Diane Cooper-Currier. "This incredible donation of $21,245 will directly translate into thousands of nutritious meals for our children and seniors across Oswego County. Huhtamaki’s partnership is vital in ensuring our most vulnerable neighbors can remain healthy, independent, and connected in their own communities."

The funds came from employees, retirees, and outside vendors in the area, which makes this event even more impressive.

"This really makes a difference for citizens in our community who may struggle to find their next meal or could be limited physically," Gloria Dickfoss, Fulton HR Coordinator, and Golf Committee Chair, said. "This will help kids have a good meal in the summer when school is out and OCO’s Meals on Wheels program will be able to continue supporting seniors. What they do really makes an impact for our community."

The tournament attracted 17 teams with four golfers each and will return next year.

"Our employees really enjoy this event annually, and the fact that it’s a charity only makes it better for everyone," Jessica Gregory, HR Manager said. "We had a great time with our participants and the weather cooperated as well. We will be looking forward to next year."
