Meet Shawn Reckrodt, Director of Supply Chain Planning, North America

Based in North America, Shawn Reckrodt joined Huhtamaki in 2009 and started in Supply Chain Planning, helping to digitalize processes and support business integrations. Since then, her career has taken several turns, each one an opportunity to learn and grow. 

Saying yes to new challenges 

A few years into her journey, Shawn was offered a leadership role in Customer Service - an area completely new to her. With the support and trust of her colleagues and leaders, she said yes. 

“For me, the turning points come when I go beyond my comfort zone,” she says. “It’s not always easy, but that’s where the biggest growth happens.” 

That mindset continued to guide her. In 2016, she moved into product management before returning in 2021 to lead the Supply Chain Planning and Continuous Improvement team. 

Supported to grow and drive change 

Throughout her journey, Shawn highlights the importance of an environment that encourages development and new opportunities. At Huhtamaki, she has been supported in taking on different roles, gaining new perspectives, and building a broad skillset across the business. 

“We don’t accept the status quo,” she explains. “But change only works when people are part of it. The best ideas come from open discussions and different perspectives.” 

Advice for new colleagues 

“Get involved, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to take on something new,” Shawn says. “With the right support around you, stepping outside your comfort zone can take you further than you expect.”
