Plan International Finland's Girl Award was presented for the second time on October 9 to a person, group or organization, operating in Finland, that are making a significant impact in promoting girls’ rights and advancing gender equality. At Huhtamaki, we are committed to equality and inclusion and are proud to sponsor Plan International Finland and the Girl Award.

This year, the jury selected Vammaiset tytöt (Disabled Girls) – a media and community initiative – as the 2025 Girl Award winner. The group was recognized for its outstanding efforts to uplift the voices of disabled girls, advocating for their rights, inclusion, and representation in society. Huhtamaki warmly congratulates this year's winner and all of the amazing nominees and finalists whose dedication to gender equality continues to inspire and drive change.

11 October marks the International Day of the Girl. The aim of the day is to empower girls and amplify their voices to highlight the challenges they face around the world. By empowering girls and amplifying their voices, we take important steps toward building an inclusive society for everyone.

"Promoting equality means making sure everyone has a fair chance to grow, contribute, and be heard. When we include more voices, we make better decisions and build a stronger future," says Rahul Nene, Head of Sustainability Center of Expertise
