Increase in share capital and listing of new shares resulting from use of option rights

A total of 14,300 new shares of Huhtamäki Oyj have been issued based on share subscriptions under Huhtamäki Oyj's 2003 option rights plan. 14,300 new shares were issued based on the option rights 2003 A on subscription date September 30, 2009. The corresponding increase in the company's share capital is EUR 48,620.00. The increase has been entered in the Finnish Trade Register on October 27, 2009. The company has requested NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Ltd. to list the new shares for public trading beginning on October 28, 2009. In terms of shareholder rights, the new shares are identical to the shares of the company already traded on NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Ltd.

Following the increase, Huhtamäki Oyj's registered share capital is EUR 358,706,290.00 and the number of shares outstanding is 105,501,850. 

The 2003 A, 2003 B and 2003 C option rights under the Huhtamäki Oyj's 2003 option rights plan entitled to the subscription of a total of 2,250,000 new shares. The annual subscription period was May 2 - October 31. The last subscription date for shares of all option rights under the 2003 option rights plan was October 21, 2009. 

The shares subscribed on the last subscription date October 21, 2009 and the corresponding increase in the share capital shall be registered with the Finnish Trade Register within 3-4 weeks from the subscription date. The shares subscribed will be eligible for trade on the following day from the registration.
