We are expanding the manufacture of protective face shields. These protective face shields help health care staff and people in other close contact occupations to return to work safely.
During COVID-19, we have focused on keeping our people safe and our manufacturing running to ensure food is delivered safely and hygienically to consumers. Today, we will also help fight the coronavirus pandemic by expanding the manufacture of protective face shields into several Huhtamaki sites.
Initially, we started manufacturing face shields in our Belfast, Northern Ireland facility, as a joint initiative with a neighboring blind manufacturer Bloc Blinds. Our lines in Belfast are now running to deliver several million pieces per week to the National Health Service in the UK. See the video of how the product came about.
