The high-quality fiber used in our paper cups can be recycled and used up to seven times before being composted or used to generate electricity. We lead and participate in several initiatives around the world to increase the recycling of paper cups.
Taking a closer look at the carbon footprint of paper cups for coffee
According to a life cycle analysis co-commissioned by Huhtamaki, paper cups often have the lowest carbon footprint, and recycling lowers it further by 54%. The LCA was carried out in 2018-2019 by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.
